Getting Started

Creating your Oshop247 account

Sign up, verify your email, and complete onboarding to launch your online store and POS in one afternoon.

Oshop247 is built for African retailers who want online and in-store sales in one system. Account creation takes a few minutes; this guide walks through signup, verification, and your first day in admin.

Step 1 โ€” Sign up

  1. Visit oshop247.com
  2. Click Start free trial (or equivalent CTA)
  3. Enter business name, owner name, email, and password
  4. Choose your store address slug โ€” this becomes yourstore.oshop247.com
  5. Select your country and plan tier

Pick a slug that is easy to spell over the phone. Short names beat clever punctuation.

Step 2 โ€” Verify your email

Check your inbox (and spam folder) for a verification link. You must verify before full admin access is granted. If the link expires, use the resend option on the login page.

Step 3 โ€” Complete onboarding

The onboarding wizard collects essentials:

  • Business type and industry
  • Default currency and timezone
  • First product (optional but recommended)
  • Payment setup prompt

You can skip non-critical steps and return later via Settings. Do not skip timezone โ€” it affects order timestamps and report cutoffs.

Step 4 โ€” Explore your admin dashboard

After onboarding, you land on the Dashboard showing today's orders and revenue. Key sidebar areas:

  • Products โ€” catalog management
  • Orders โ€” fulfilment queue
  • Point of Sale โ€” in-store sales
  • Customers โ€” buyer records
  • Settings โ€” payments, shipping, branding
  • Billing & Plans โ€” subscription management

Step 5 โ€” Choose and understand your plan

During trial, features match the plan you selected. Compare limits on the pricing page:

  • Number of products and staff
  • POS and branch support
  • Bulk import, advanced reports, multi-currency

Upgrade anytime from Billing when you hit limits.

Step 6 โ€” First-day checklist

  1. Add 3โ€“10 products with photos and prices
  2. Configure Settings โ†’ Payments (Paystack or Flutterwave)
  3. Configure Settings โ†’ Shipping for your delivery areas
  4. Upload logo under Settings โ†’ General
  5. Place a test order on your storefront
  6. Share your store link on WhatsApp status

Invite your team

When ready, go to Staff & Roles in the sidebar โ†’ Invite staff. Assign roles (Manager, Cashier, etc.) so each person sees only what they need.
